Scottish Pharmacy Board outlines moves towards more engagement with members
Member of the Scottish Pharmacy Board have agreed to hold an Open Day at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Scottish office on Sunday 27 April 2008. At its meeting on 30 January, the board heard that the day
would provide an opportunity for members and their families to meet the
Scottish Pharmacy Board and Society staff. Members will be welcome to
tour 36 York Place, the Society’s house in Edinburgh, and can visit
the Victorian Museum.
Further information will be available online
Among other matters discussed, the board recognised the need to meet
with members more frequently and agreed that in 2008 it would commit
to holding roadshows throughout Scotland instead of holding an annual
meeting at York Place in June. This had proved successful in 2007, when
the board held a series of five roadshows encouraging members to “have
their say”, the board heard.
This year the roadshows would focus
on a review of the board’s activities and the recommendations from
the Clarke inquiry into a future professional body for pharmacy.
