No more antivirals for influenza

Use of antiviral drugs for the prevention or treatment of influenza in England is no longer indicated for this flu season, the Department of Health has advised.

The decision comes after surveillance data indicated that the overall rate of flu reports has fallen below the threshold at which National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence guidelines on the use of antiviral drugs is triggered.
