WHO annual TB report

Private healthcare providers must work in partnership with public programmes to ensure that new tuberculosis cases do not escape detection, the World Health Organization suggests in its 12th annual report on TB control.

It points out that the rate of increase in TB diagnoses has halved (from an average yearly increase of 6 per cent for 2001 to 2005 to 3 per cent for 2005 to 2006).
