DoH must improve handling of information requests

The Information Commissioner’s Office has declared that the Department of Health must improve the way it handles requests under the Freedom of Information Act.

The ICO has issued a formal practice recommendation to the DoH after finding that it had failed on numerous occasions to offer appropriate assistance to people making requests under the Act and had repeatedly applied blanket exemptions to requested information.
