Bicalutamide in BNF
The indication and dose for bicalutamide tablets 50mg have been omitted from p487 of BNF 55.

The indication should read: “Advanced prostate cancer in combination with gonadorelin analogue or surgical castration.”

The dose should read: “Advanced prostate cancer, in combination with gonadorelin analogue or surgical castration, 50mg once daily (started at the same time as surgical castration or at least 3 days before gonadorelin therapy, see also section 8.3.4.2, p. 486 BNF 55).”

MUR accreditation
The University of Reading has updated the support material and accreditation for medicines use reviews, in line with the new design of MUR form. Pharmacists who have requested application forms in the past nine months but have not yet submitted completed forms can e-mail CIPPET@reading.ac.uk to ask for the new materials to be emailed to them.

Pre-registration graduates can also undertake the Reading MUR assessment, under the supervision of their tutor, in advance of their registration.
