Tributes

James In a tribute to the late Bryan David James, MIKE PRICE writes:

I probably first met Bryan when I was a young pharmacist doing “reliefs” for Boots in the Rhondda valleys in the early 1980s.

It was attendance at rugby internationals during the mid 80s when we forged our friendship; in this respect Bryan was no different from most Welsh pharmacists, sharing a passion for their national sport and team. He was also fond of playing snooker with other Rhondda pharmacists.

After working for many years as a pharmacy manager, he had acquired a traditional pharmacy in Ton Pentre, a close-knit ex-mining community near Treorchy. He maintained it that way; a local pharmacy (counter service, correct smells) that encompassed values of simple, honest and attentive personal service.

As a man, Bryan was modest, introspective, philosophical and had a wise head when you needed advice. He enjoyed his life, and was generous to those he loved. He will be missed. My deepest sympathies extend to his wife Gwyneth and his family.
