Advice to patients (1) Salbutamol inhaler
- If you have another inhaler you use at the same time as this one, use this one first - about 10 minutes before the other.
- If you take two puffs, wait for a minute or so after the first puff before shaking the container again and taking the second puff.
- Your doctor may tell you to take an extra dose occasionally. But if you find you are often needing extra doses don't keep taking more, contact the doctor.
- If difficulty in breathing persists after inhaling the medicine, you should call the doctor straight away.
- Like all medicines, this one can have some unwanted effects. Some people have muscle tremors and a few have palpitations and headaches.
- Some people find these inhalers hard to use. If you are finding it difficult I may be able to help you, or there are other types of inhalers which you would probably find easier.
