In 1999 did you introduce a new method of working or take an initiative that has demonstrably improved patient care? If you did, then an entry for the Pharmaceutical Care Awards could allow your efforts to receive the recognition they deserve and also enable your initiative to act as a stimulus for colleagues throughout the world.
The Pharmaceutical Journal in association with Glaxo Wellcome UK Ltd now formally invites applications for the 1999 Pharmaceutical Care Awards. Entries can relate to the pharmacist's core activity of drug therapy or to peripheral activities such as health promotion.
Pharmacists can enter singly or in small groups. Co-operative efforts involving other professions are eligible but pharmacists should play a leading role in them. Entries from overseas are welcome.
There are three categories:
There will be a winner and a runner up in each category, subject to there being sufficient entries of appropriate quality. The winning entrants will each receive a plaque and a cheque for £1,000 to be used in developing professional services. The runner up prizes will be £500 cheques for the same purpose.
Judging will be carried out by a panel comprising representatives from professional bodies and Glaxo Wellcome UK Ltd. The Editor of The Journal will act as chairman.
The prizes will be presented at the Savoy Hotel, London on Friday, June 23 2000. Any overseas winners would not be expected to attend. Their awards would be presented to them in their home country by a representative of the organisers.
Entrants should complete the form below and this page may be photocopied. The closing date for entries is March 24. Entries should be posted to The Editor, The Pharmaceutical Journal, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN.
Entries can also be faxed to 020 7582 7327 or sent by e-mail to editor@pharmj.org.uk.
