Responding to Change

Senior Clinical Pharmacist - Medical Directorate

Grade D with EDC

We are looking to appoint a suitably experienced Pharmacist to assist in the implementation and audit of NICE and NSF guidelines at Directorate and Trust level. It is anticipated that this post will become an essential part of Trust Management, as the number of guidelines from the centre increase. Close liaison with the Trust's Prescribing Pharmacist and the local PCG's will be essential.

In addition, you will be expected to take a lead in helping the Pharmacy Department meets its clinical governance agenda by setting and monitoring clinical standards.

You will be self motivated, possess a postgraduate clinical qualification and enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Although full support will be provided, previous directorate experience would be an advantage.

This department is well respected with the Trust. We have close links with the Anticoagulant Service and have recently, with the University of Bath, employed a Research Pharmcist. Full utilisation of the skills of our Technicians and Assistants has been an essential part of our service for many years.

We are moving into a new hospital in the autumn of 2002 and are currently in the process of procuring a new hospital-wide clinical IT system, which will include electronic prescribing. If successful, you will be expected to be involved in managing the changes which these initiatives will require.

For further information or to arrange an informal visit please ring either Steve Holmes, Chief Pharmacist, on (01793) 426387, or Mike Lewis, Deputy Chief Pharmacists, on (01793) 426095.

Closing Date: 29th September 2000.

For an application pack please contact our Human Resources Department on our 24 hour answerphone (01793) 426290 quoting reference PJ/PHAD605/F09.
