Guild award for Tony Nunn
The Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists Celltech gold
medal for 2000 has been awarded to Tony Nunn, director of pharmacy at
the Royal Liverpool Children’s NHS Trust.
During the time that Mr Nunn has been head of pharmacy
at the Liverpool trust, of which the Alder Hey Hospital is a part, he
has overseen the setting up of a paediatric drug information advisory
line, as well as a seven-day pharmacy service.
In addition, Mr Nunn has co-edited books on paediatric
drug therapy, and written over 35 papers on pharmacy practice and paediatrics.
He has also helped raise awareness of the issues surrounding paediatric
medicines. Mr Nunn is an honorary visiting lecturer at the University
of Bradford school of pharmacy and was made a fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical
Society last December.
