Report shows stress can lead to CHD

The Health and Safety Executive has published research showing that a stressful working environment can lead to coronary heart disease. High job demands, low control over jobs, and the imbalance between effort and reward were all related to an increased incidence of coronary heart disease. The report "Work environment, alcohol consumption and ill health. The Whitehall II study" can be ordered online at www.hsebooks.co.uk or from HSE Books (tel 01787 881165). Price: £15.
