Faculty of paediatric pharmacy launched

A Faculty of Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy has been formed from a collaboration between the College of Pharmacy Practice and the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacists' Group. The faculty was launched at a ceremony held in London on 25 March.

The new faculty is the second to be established by the college, following the launch of the Faculty of Prescribing and Medicines Management last year.

The purpose of the faculty is to support members by offering access to education, training and accreditation in neonatal and paediatric pharmacy.

Membership of the new faculty is open to all pharmacists working in any area of practice covered by the faculty. Pharmacists join the faculty as associate members, moving on to become full members after demonstrating a certain level of competence. The faculty will be allocated resources by the College to undertake administrative support and other activities.
