Hospital pharmacists get help with CPD

A web-based educational programme for hospital pharmacists has been launched by IDIS World Medicines.

The Hospital Pharmacists Education Programme offers a series of modules accredited by the College of Pharmacy Practice. The initial modules to be offered will focus on areas highlighted by the Audit Commission's report, "A spoonful of sugar", on medicines management, including, managing risk and seamless care. Other modules are managing people and communication skills.

Each module will take a minimum of one hour to complete, after which a certificate will be mailed to the pharmacist.

The interactive education programme (available at www.idis.co.uk) will be available free of charge to hospital pharmacists.

Ian Simpson, chief executive of the CPP, described the education programme as a useful resource, and said that the college was delighted to be associated with it.
