Medicines strategy group to advise Welsh minister

An All-Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) is in the process of being set up to provide advice on medicines management and prescribing issues to the Welsh Minister for Health and Social Services.

The AWMSG will make the National Assembly for Wales aware of developments in drugs and ensure that a consistent approach to prescribing is in place throughout Wales. The group will be chaired by Professor Roger Walker, director of pharmaceutical public health for Gwent Health Authority.
