Postgraduate courses for pharmacists working in primary care
As pharmacists have expanded their role to become more directly involved with the multidisciplinary primary health care team, it has been recognised that new skills are required to enable adaptation to the new environment and to achieve effective outcomes.
Schools of pharmacy have started to respond to this need by providing postgraduate courses designed specifically for pharmacists working in primary care. But just what is currently available and how can you get more information? The following summary has been collated from information supplied by the schools of pharmacy in the UK and is designed to assist primary care pharmacists considering a postgraduate qualification. Course content is given very briefly to provide a flavour, but more complete details can be obtained from the named contacts at each university.
