Audit support pack launched

The Scottish department of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society has launched a support pack, containing a set of nationally produced teaching materials and templates for multidisciplinary audit.
Copies are held either by pharmacy audit facilitators or by designated pharmacy audit contacts at Scottish health boards. Copies have also been sent to Scottish trust chief pharmacists or can be obtained from the Scottish department of the Society, the Scottish schools of pharmacy and the Clinical Resource and Audit Group (CRAG) at the Scottish Office.
The templates cover topics including sublingual glyceryl trinitrate and aspirin usage in angina patients and continuity of medicines supply to patients with mental health problems.

The Scottish Centre for Post-qualification Pharmaceutical Education (SCPPE) has approved the audits for continuing professional development purposes. To qualify, pharmacists should complete and return a "self-reflection" form to their local audit contact, who will inform the SCPPE office. The scheme will also apply to the audits available on the Society website at www.RPSGB.org.uk/ Audit/audits.htm. Further information can be obtained from the Scottish department of the Society (tel 0131 556 4386) or SCPPE (tel 0141 548 4273).
