Apprenticeship awards
The large employer category in the Scottish Modern Apprenticeship awards was won by the acute trust, Tayside University Hospitals, not Tayside Primary Care Trust as previously stated (PJ, 22 November, p707).

Minims Rose Bengal
Bausch & Lomb says that Minims Rose Bengal (rose bengal 1 per cent) will continue to be available and its earlier announcement of discontinuation was a regrettable mistake (PJ, 6 September, p297).

Duncan Craig
Professor Duncan Craig is co-editor of the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, not the editor as stated in last week’s Journal (p627). Professor Craig holds the position jointly with Professor David Jones at the School of Pharmacy, Queen’s University, Belfast.

Radiopharmacy workshop
The e-mail address for Paul Maltby, contact for the United Kingdom Radiopharmacy Group annual workshop, has been changed to paul.maltby@rlbuht.nhs.uk (PJ, 1 November, p609).

Lemsip Max Cold & Flu Direct Blackcurrant is a general sale list medicine, not a pharmacy medicine as stated in last week’s Journal (p577).

In the meeting report of a palliative care pharmacists study day in last week’s issue, Mr Dickman was erroneously changed to Mr Duncan during the editing process (p559).

Duac Once Daily Gel
Duac Once Daily Gel will appear on wholesaler systems for 27 October, not immediately as stated in last week’s Journal (p541). The Journal apologises for any inconvenience caused.

The memorial evening for Dr Mo Aslam will be held at the University of Nottingham on 22 October, not as The Journal was informed last week (p489).

Rachel Elliott
The article in last week’s Journal entitled “Can Britain and the United States learn anything from each other?” was co-written by Rachel Elliott, not as stated (p508) PDF (85K)

Dr Feda Mulhem
Dr Feda Mulhem had been a specialist registrar for two days at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, and not the City Hospital, when he instructed a senior house officer to give a vincristine injection that proved fatal (PJ, 27 September, p397).

Inspectors’ preregistration talks
Details of presentations for preregistration trainees by Royal Pharmaceutical Society inspectors will be sent to trainees and tutors in a special mailing and not with a preregistration bulletin in November as stated last week (p433).

Marcus Longley, who wrote the report on the consultation on the draft new Royal Charter (PJ, 13 September, p349), has acted as the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s facilitator for Council modernisation discussions.

The Journal’s recruitment website www.pjcareers.com is not currently active as implied in last week’s Journal (p 313) but will be active from 25 September.

Movicol-Half indication
The licensed indication for Movicol-Half (Macrogol 3350 and electrolytes) has been extended to include the treatment of faecal impaction in children from the age of two years (Norgine). This indication does not apply to Movicol as stated in last week’s Journal (p 318).

Vertical transmission of HIV
The antiretroviral therapy recommended to prevent vertical transmission of HIV is zidovudine, not azathioprine as stated in The Journal, (30 August, p273).

Genus products
Genus has told The Journal that Felotens (felodipine XL) tablets are in pack sizes of 30, not 28 as the company previously stated, and that tramadol is available as capsules, not tablets.

Archana Daniels
The name and registration number of Archana Daniels (86731) were erroneously included in the recent list of pharmacists erased from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists for non-payment of the 2003 retention fee (PJ, 19 July, p100). Mrs Daniels retired from the register in 2002 and has not purported to be a registered or practising pharmacist during 2003. The Royal Pharmaceutical Society apologises unreservedly to her for its error and for any embarrassment it may have caused.

Workforce census
In two articles on the national workforce census (14 June, p833 and 12 July, p58) we erroneously attributed the qualification MRPharmS to Karen Hassell. Dr Hassell is not a pharmacist.

Council report
Our report of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s June Council meeting wrongly attributed to Noel Wicks a statement by Douglas Simpson that the Society should be able to represent the interests of an individual pharmacist who was being threatened professionally (PJ, 14 June, p841).

Prescription charges in Wales
Ending prescription charges in Wales will benefit around 50 per cent of all patients in Wales (1.5 million), not 11 per cent as stated in last week's news feature (p856).

BPC programme
The AstraZeneca Industrial Achievement Award was accidentally omitted from last week's summary of this year's British Pharmaceutical Conference programme (p869, PDF (120K)). The award will be presented at noon on the Tuesday to Dr John Staniforth, of Vectura, who will speak on "Difficult drugs and easy administration: meeting the 21st century challenge for inhaled, oral and dermal product developments".

Pan Pharmaceuticals
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency stated that Health Perception had bought products from suspended Australian manufacturer Pan Pharmaceuticals (PJ, 31 May, p740). The MHRA now confirms that this is not correct for the period affected by the current global product recall
