Diabetes funding
The Strategic Alliance for Diabetes (Diabetes UK, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and Sanofi-Aventis) has launched a website providing health care professionals in England with advice on how to commission diabetes services at a primary care level. The website includes information on the NHS commissioning process, how to make a funding bid, potential funding sources and examples of good practice. It can be accessed at www.diabetesplanning.org

Diabetes UK has produced a pocket-sized information leaflet, supported by Aventis, with spaces for patients with diabetes to record measurements of HbA1c, blood pressure, blood lipids, waist circumference and body mass index.
