New opportunities in veterinary pharmacy

The Veterinary Pharmacists Group of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society is to hold its 2003 weekend conference on 17 and 18 May at the Redcliffe Hotel, Paignton, Devon. The conference theme will be "Exciting new opportunities in veterinary pharmacy" .

The conference will start on the Saturday afternoon with a visit behind the scenes at Paignton Zoo. The conference dinner will take place at the hotel on the Saturday evening.

The Sunday conference programme has yet to be finalised: the morning session will include presentations about the Competition Commission report on veterinary medicines and the proposed new prescription only medicine (exempt) category for veterinary medicines; the afternoon session will look at how community pharmacists can set up a veterinary pharmacy section and at veterinary pharmacy training.

Fuller details of the programme will be available shortly. The cost of the conference, including dinner, be and breakfast and Sunday lunch, will be no more than £145.
