PJ writer is medical journalist of the year
(14 July 2004)

Clare Bellingham, senior news and features writer at The Journal, was named medical journalist of the year by the Medical Journalists' Association last week. Ms Bellingham, who has been on the staff at The Journal for almost five years, received £500 and a certificate, which was sponsored by Pfizer.

Monika Polak, clinical news editor of GP newspaper and a former member of PJ staff was a finalist in the same category.

Other winners were Jeremy Laurance of The Independent (health journalist of the year) and Barbara Myers (freelance journalist of the year). The Lancet was named medical publication of the year.
