Posting of The Pharmaceutical Journal
(3 August 2006)

On 21 August, the Royal Mail is introducing significant changes to the way post is priced. The current system is based on the weight of items. The new system will be based on both size and weight. This “pricing in proportion” will have a significant impact on the costs of distributing The Pharmaceutical Journal and other publications.

To lessen the impact — which would add over £150,000 to The Journal’s annual postage costs if were to continue to be sent as it is now — The Journal will be sent second class. This will mean that the vast majority of copies will be delivered on Saturdays (ie, on publication day).

The contents of The Journal will continue to be posted online on Fridays.

New delivery arrangements for Hospital Pharmacist (August 2006)

New postal charges mean that subsequent issues of Hospital Pharmacist will be sent out in the same wrapper as The Pharmaceutical Journal.

If any hospital pharmacist or subscriber does not receive their journals, please e-mail your name, address and Society registration number to jo.cook@rpsgb.org

The contents of Hospital Pharmacist will continue to be posted online
