Nurofen Cold and Flu

Crookes Healthcare Ltd has asked the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency to reclassify Nurofen Cold and Flu (ibuprofen 200mg and pseudoephedrine 30mg tablets) as a general sale list medicine. This will be the first GSL product to contain pseudoephedrine. The proposed GSL pack will contain 12 tablets. Larger packs (24 tablets and 36 tablets) will continue to be available as a pharmacy medicine. Nurofen Cold and Flu is licensed for the relief of symptoms of cold and influenza with associated congestion, including aches and pains, headache, sore throat, blocked nose and sinuses.

Consultation period: 18 September 2003 to 30 October 2003.
