Renagel container status (PJ 2007;278:339, 24 March 2007)
The Department of Health has confirmed the removal of Renagel (sevelamer; Genzyme) tablets 800mg from the Drug Tariff’s special container list from March.

Category M
The reimbursement prices for 40 Category M products will change in November based on the receipt of corrected information from manufacturers by the Department of Health.

Category M price changes have been announced for prescriptions dispensed in October to December 2006. There are no additions or deletions to Category M in this quarter (September 2006).

February 2005 amendments

September 2004 Drug Tariff amendment (Pharmaceutical Journal, 273;415)
The Prescription Pricing Authority says that the price increases for B.Braun Medical’s Askina Biofilm transparent dressings and to some of their Part IXC stoma appliances do not appear in the paper edition of the September Drug Tariff but are correctly listed in the electronic version. These products will be reimbursed at the prices in the electronic version.

dm&d naming convention (Pharmaceutical Journal, 272;503)
The drugs listed in part VIII of the Drug Tariff will reflect the naming convention used in the NHS dictionary of medicines and devices (PJ, 10 April, p435). Full details will be given in the preface of the May issue.
