(5) Supermarket pharmacist rationalising prescriptions
Len Clay has held various jobs in community
pharmacy, including being the superintendent of a pharmacy chain.
Five years ago, he joined Asda superstore in Preston, Lancashire,
where he and his wife job share to give them time to look after their
five sons themselves. This uncommon arrangement was put under the
spotlight in 2003 when Mr Clay was invited to meet Cherie Booth as
an example of a flexible working parent. Mr Clay also is the professional
executive committee pharmacist for Preston Primary Care Trust. He
supports Liverpool Football Club.

(6) Locum pharmacist fulfilling his client's promise
Marvyn Elton is a locum community pharmacist
in Essex. For the past seven years, he has provided a locum service,
one day a week, to a large multiple. Mr Elton is also a registered
optometrist and runs his own practice. He has written medical articles
for The Journal and Optometry Today. In his spare time, he enjoys
karaoke and going to the gym

(7) Pharmacy training specialist: putting learning into practice
Helen Middleton is a continuing professional
development manager and training specialist at London Pharmacy
Education and Training (LPE&T). She is responsible for developing and delivering a strategy to support CPD implementation in pharmacy departments in NHS organisations across London, Hertfordshire and Essex, and developing and delivering study days on the LPE&T
annual programme. Her hobbies include travelling, reading and
cooking
