Splitting the SocietyThe Government has published a White paper (21 February 2007) that requires the Royal Pharmaceutical Society to separate its functions of regulation and professional leadership

A General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is to be established to register and regulate pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and premises. The Government has proposed a royal college model for the Society to provide clinical and professional leadership.
