Statutory Committee decisions

There follows the outcome of recent inquiries heard before the Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

On Tuesday 9 October 2001, in the Inquiry into James Fitzwilliams, of 15 Mansfield Road, Lodge Moor Estate, Gunness, Scunthorpe, South Humberside, the committee resolved to adjourn the inquiry on terms for a period of 12 months.

In the resumed inquiry into Miroslaw Jaworowski, of 23 Locklands Lane, Irlam, Manchester, the committee, having previously found misconduct established, directed the Registrar to remove Mr Jaworowski’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or, in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

In the application for restoration of Somboon Keophaithool, of Villa Magnolia Malee, 30 Dickens Drive, Whiteley, Fareham, Hampshire, the Committee resolved to direct that the name of Mr Keophaithool be restored to the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists.

On Wednesday 10 October, in the inquiry into Karam Al-Nimri, of 2 Old Brompton Road, Suite 403, London SW7, and previously of 5 Roman Road, Ramsgate, Kent, the committee found misconduct established against Mr Al-Nimri and resolved to reprimand him.

In the application for restoration of Jitendra Manilal Gathani, of 5 Woodhall Drive, Dulwich Village, London SE21, the committee resolved to direct that the name of Mr Gathani be restored to the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists.

In the application for restoration of Perry Melnick, of 11 Highwood Gardens, Ilford, Essex, the committee resolved to adjourn the application until February 2002.

On Thursday 11 October, the Chairman gave the committee’s reasoned decision for directing the Registrar to remove from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists the name of Shirazali Rajabali Jetha Panjawani, of 120 Golders Green Road, London NW11. The inquiry into Mr Panjawani had been heard before the Committee on 10, 11 and 12 September 2001.

On Thursday 11 and Friday 12 October, in the inquiry into John Christopher Gould, of 6 Mary Park Gardens, Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, the committee resolved to adjourn the inquiry to a date to be agreed.
