Statutory Committee decision

There follows the outcome of recent inquiries heard before the Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

On Monday 14 January 2002, in the inquiry into Philip Francis Sloane, whose last registered address is Rose Grove, 1 Catton Grove Road, Norwich, the committee found misconduct established and directed the Registrar to remove Mr Sloane's name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

In the inquiry into Howard Leonard Rodkoff, of 26 Turpin Avenue, Romford, Essex, the Committee found the conviction proved and the misconduct established and directed the Registrar to remove Mr Rodkoff's name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

In the inquiry into Michael Oliver George Allen, of Grange Farmhouse, Hasketon, Woodbridge, Suffolk, and Tranby Investments Ltd, of 32 Market Hill, Framlingham, Woodbridge, Suffolk, the committee found the misconduct established and resolved to reprimand Mr Allen. As far as the company was concerned the committee resolved to take no further action.

On Tuesday 15 January 2002, in the inquiry into Rohitkumar Dwarkadas Kotecha, of "Weathertrees", Southill Avenue, Harrow, Middlesex, and Niemans Chemists Ltd, of 12 Byward Street, London EC3, the committee found the misconduct established and resolved to reprimand Mr Kotecha. As far as the company was concerned the committee resolved to take no further action.

In the resumed inquiry into Vinaykant Jayantilal Bhatt, of 8 Bernays Close, Stanmore, Middlesex, the Committee resolved to adjourn the inquiry on terms until the end of 2002.

On Wednesday 16 January 2002, in the inquiry into Errol Gordon Dulipsinji Ganpatsingh, of 23 Harrington Road, Brighton, East Sussex, the committee found misconduct established and directed the Registrar to remove Mr Ganpatsingh's name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.
