Wales annual general meeting

The 26th annual general meeting of members of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society resident in Wales will be held at Techniquest, Cardiff Bay, on Wednesday 10 July 2002 from 7.30 to 8pm. Light refreshments will be served from 6.45pm.

The annual lecture, entitled "New drug delivery systems: from theory to practice", follows at 8pm. The speaker is Professor Hans Junginger, scientific secretary to the International Pharmaceutical Federation and head of the department for pharmaceutical technology at the Leiden/Amsterdam centre for drug research. Professor Junginger is an expert on delayed release technology for oral products and has a reputation as an entertaining lecturer. During his presentation he will demonstrate a variety of the materials and techniques used in delayed release and slow release products. His demonstrations will include a short in vivo video. There will be opportunity for questions and discussion following the lecture, and before the conclusion of the formal part of the evening at 9.30pm.

The Techniquest facilities will be available until 10pm to allow members to view and try out the exhibits.
