Statutory Committee inquiries

The Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1, on Tuesday 23 July 2002 at 10am to hear (1) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which alleges that the writing and sending of letters which are inappropriate, in that they do not conform with accepted standards of personal and professional conduct, amounts to misconduct. The committee will also hear (2) an inquiry into a pharmacist convicted of being in possession of indecent photographs of children and distribution of an indecent photograph of a child.

The Statutory Committee will further meet on Wednesday 24 July 2002 at 10am to hear (3) a resumed inquiry into a complaint by the Council against a pharmacist which includes allegations that the sale of pharmacy medicines and the dispensing and supply of prescription-only medicines in the absence of a pharmacist amounts to misconduct. The committee will also hear (4) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which includes allegations that the dispensing of bisoprolol 10mg tablets labelled with a dose outside normal prescribing limits amounts to misconduct.

The Statutory Committee will further meet on Thursday 25 July 2002 at 10am to hear (5) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which alleges that the supply of 535ml of sucralfate liquid without the authority of a prescription, the supply of Percutol 2 per cent ointment against a prescription calling for GTN 0.2 per cent ointment and breaches of the legislation relating to the supply of POMs amounts to misconduct.
