AstraZeneca Industrial Achievement Award 2003

The AstraZeneca Industrial Achievement Award is given for outstanding contributions to either the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences or services to the pharmaceutical industry. All pharmaceutical scientists and technologists currently working directly for, or associated with, the pharmaceutical industry are eligible.

The award will recognise the personal contribution to the pharmaceutical industry by an individual as judged by their peers. Although published scientific work will be taken into account in determining how pharmaceutical science or technology has been advanced by the individual, more emphasis will be placed on how the patient or customer has benefited from the efforts of the individual. Special consideration will be taken of activities outside the normal work environment.

The award will comprise a cheque for £1,000, a commemorative presentation, and reimbursement of expenses for attendance at the British Pharmaceutical Conference in September 2003 to give a lecture on the work.

Nominations may be submitted either directly by the individual or by someone on their behalf.

Nominations should be made by 30 November 2002 to the Science Secretary, Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN. Enquiries may be e-mailed to science@rpsgb.org.uk.
