Statutory Committee inquiriesThe Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1, at 10am on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 November 2002 to hear the following inquiries and applications: Wednesday 20 November 1. To announce the reasoned decision following the hearing of an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which included allegations that the sale of pharmacy medicines and the dispensing and supply of prescription-only medicines in the absence of a pharmacist amounted to misconduct. 2. To hear an inquiry into a pharmacist convicted of a number of offences resulting from failure to comply with Regulations made under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. 3. To hear an application for restoration from a person whose name was removed from the Register. 4. To hear an application for restoration from a person whose name was removed from the Register. Thursday 21 November 2002 5. To announce the reasoned decision following the hearing of an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which included allegations that the dispensing of bisoprolol 10mg tablets labelled with a dose outside normal prescribing limits amounted to misconduct. 6. To hear an inquiry into a pharmacist convicted of theft, fraud and driving while under the influence of drugs. The committee will also hear an additional complaint by the Council of the Society which alleges that the pharmacist's inability to discharge his professional duties while engaged as a locum amounts to misconduct.
