Statutory Committee inquiriesThe Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1, at 10am on Tuesday 6 May, Wednesday 7 May, Thursday 8 May and Friday 9 May 2003 to hear the following inquiries and applications: Tuesday 6 May 1. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which includes allegations that a dispensing error and the pharmacist's failure to contact the prescriber after being alerted to the error may amount to misconduct. 2. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a superintendent pharmacist and company which includes allegations that the dispensing of chloramphenicol eye-drops against an unsigned prescription and an agreement between the superintendent pharmacist and a surgery that unsigned prescriptions could be directed to the pharmacy for dispensing may amount to misconduct. Wednesday 7 May 3. An inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of unlawful possession of 20 "ecstasy" tablets and 0.516g of cocaine. 4. An application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed from the Register. 5. An application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed from the Register. Thursday 8 May 6. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which includes allegations that the supply of a balance of 60 MST 30mg tablets against a prescription calling for MST 10mg tablets, and the pharmacist's failure once alerted to the error to recommend that the patient should seek medical advice or himself to contact the prescriber, even though he was aware that a higher strength of MST tablets had been taken by the patient, may amount to misconduct. 7. An inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of indecent assault on a female and taking an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child. Friday 9 May 8. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which includes allegations that the theft of prescription-only medicines from a pharmacy in respect of which the pharmacist received an adult caution from the police, and the self-administration of prescription-only medicines from pharmacy stock may amount to misconduct. 9.
