Statutory Committee inquiriesThe Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1, at 2pm on Monday 16 June, and at 9.45am on Tuesday 17 June, Wednesday 18 June and Thursday 19 June 2003 to hear the following inquiries: Monday 16 June 1. An inquiry into the case of a pharmacist who was convicted of indecent assault on a female and taking an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child. Tuesday 17 June 2. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which alleges that the pharmacist’s failure to accept that as pharmacist in charge of a pharmacy he was professionally and legally accountable for medicines supplied from the pharmacy, and the pharmacist’s inappropriate response to the warning as to future conduct, from the Infringements Committee, may amount to misconduct. 3. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which includes allegations that the pharmacist’s failure to honour an agreement to provide locum services because of alleged ill-health in circumstances when he had arranged to work and did work as a locum at another pharmacy on the day in question, may amount to misconduct. Wednesday 18 June 4. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which alleges that breaches of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations and the dispensing of a Controlled Drug against a forged prescription in circumstances where the pharmacist was not acquainted with the doctor’s signature nor had taken reasonable steps to satisfy himself that the prescription was genuine, may amount to misconduct. 5. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which alleges that dispensing advance supplies of methadone otherwise than in accordance with the prescriber’s instalment directions and failure to maintain an accurate Controlled Drugs register, may amount to misconduct. Thursday 19 June 6. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which alleges that a number of dispensing errors made while the pharmacist was locum pharmacist in charge may amount to misconduct.
