Statutory Committee inquiries
The Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1, at 9.45am on Tuesday
16, Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 September 2003 to hear the following
inquiries and applications:
Tuesday 16 September
1. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against
a pharmacist which includes allegations that the theft of Nicorette
nasal sprays, the taking of other medicines from the pharmacist’s
employer without authority and the pharmacist’s behaviour while
on duty, may amount to misconduct.
2. A resumed inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of driving
with an alcohol level which exceeded the prescribed limit and a complaint
by the Council of the Society, which included allegations that the pharmacist’s
inability to discharge his professional duties amounted to misconduct.
The inquiry was first heard in April 2002 when the Committee, having
found misconduct established, resolved to adjourn the Inquiry for 12
months. In April 2003 the inquiry was further adjourned.
Wednesday 17 September
3. An application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed
from the Register.
4. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against
a superintendent pharmacist and company which alleges that the superintendent’s
failure to ensure that the correct medicine was supplied by the pharmacy
and to identify the pharmacist responsible for the error, may amount
to misconduct.
Thursday 18 September
5. A resumed inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against
a pharmacist which alleges that attending for work while unfit to undertake
duties as pharmacist in charge may amount to misconduct. The inquiry
was first heard in March 2002 and adjourned for 18 months.
6. An application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed
from the Register.
7. An application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed
from the Register.
