Statutory Committee decisions

Set out below are the outcomes of recent inquiries heard before the Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

On Tuesday 16 September 2003, in the inquiry into Ziad Khattab, of 3 Albert Road, Eccles, Manchester, the committee, having found misconduct established, resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Khattab’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

In the resumed inquiry into Matthew Richard Jacques, of 32 Dylan Thomas Road, Nottingham, the committee, having found misconduct established at the earlier hearing, resolved to reprimand Mr Jacques.

On Wednesday 17 September 2003, in the application for restoration of Paul Robert Crawford, of 4 South Avenue, Goring by Sea, Worthing, the committee resolved to direct that the name of Mr Crawford should be restored to the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists.

In the inquiry into Divya Tanna and Elgin Court Ltd, of 314 Sangley Road, Catford, London SE6, the committee resolved to adjourn the inquiry.

On Thursday 18 September 2003, in the resumed inquiry into Alexander Harper, of 20 Thornhill Road, Streetly, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, the committee, having found misconduct established at the earlier hearing, resolved to reprimand Mr Harper.

In the application for restoration of Brian Hope Robertson, of 4 Wansfell Avenue, Carlisle, Cumbria, the committee resolved to direct that the name of Mr Robertson should be restored to the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists.

In the application for restoration of John Dickinson, of 9 Brockwell Centre, Durham Road, Cramlington, Northumberland, the committee resolved to direct that the name of Mr Dickinson should be restored to the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists.
