AstraZeneca Industrial Achievement Award 2004
The AstraZeneca Industrial Achievement Award is given for outstanding contributions
to either the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences or services to the
pharmaceutical industry. All pharmaceutical scientists and technologists currently
working directly for, or associated with, the industry are eligible.
The award recognises the personal contribution to the pharmaceutical industry
by an individual as judged by his or her peers. Although published scientific
work will be taken into account in determining how the individual has advanced
pharmaceutical science or technology, more emphasis will be placed on how the
patient or customer has benefited from the individual’s efforts. Special
consideration will be taken of activities outside the normal work environment.
The award will consist of a cheque for £1,000, a commemorative presentation
and reimbursement of expenses for attendance at the British Pharmaceutical Conference
in September 2004 to give a lecture on the work.
Nominations may be submitted either directly by the individual or by someone
on their behalf. Nominations should be made by 30 November 2003 to the Science
Secretary at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s headquarters. Enquiries
should be sent to Judy Callanan (e-mail science@rpsgb.org.uk).
