Statutory Committee inquiries
The Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1, at 9.45am on Monday
26, Tuesday 27, Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 January 2004 to hear the
following applications for restorations and inquiries:
Monday 26 January
1. An application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed
from the Register.
2. An application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed
from the Register.
3. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against
a pharmacist, which alleges that a dispensing error made by the pharmacist
and the pharmacist’s advice to the patient and the patient’s
mother on one or more occasions that the dispensed medicine was correct,
may amount to misconduct.
Tuesday 27, Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 January
4. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against
a superintendent pharmacist, the company and two pharmacists employed
by the company which includes allegations that the presence, at the
company’s two registered pharmacy premises, of large amounts
of segregated and inadequately segregated out-of-date medicines, the
presence of large amounts of medicines of uncertain provenance which
were improperly labelled and where the date of expiry and/or batch
number were not present, some of the medicines having been de-blistered
and/or repackaged, may amount to misconduct.
Thursday 29 January
5. A resumed inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of a number
of offences resulting from failure to comply with Regulations made
under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. The inquiry was first heard in
July 2003, when it was adjourned for six months.
