APG committee election results
Monday 21 June 2004 saw the election, held in accordance with the Academic
Pharmacy Group’s constitution, of the new APG Committee.
Ahead of the close of voting at noon on 21 June, a total of 180 voting papers
were received, of which 179 were valid. One voting paper was invalid because
the voter had failed to sign and print his or her name on the reverse of the
envelope, thus making it impossible to check that the votes had been cast by
a full APG member. The result was as follows:
Susan Barker, School of
Pharmacy and Chemical
Science, University of East
Anglia
68
Richard Bryce, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University
of Manchester
72
Sarah Cockbill, The Welsh
School of Pharmacy, Cardiff University
66
Paul Gard, School of Pharmacy
and Biomolecular Sciences, University of Brighton
88
John Pugh, The Welsh School of Pharmacy, Cardiff University
74
Chris Rostron, School of Pharmacy and Chemistry, Liverpool John Moores University
103
Jenny Scott, School of
Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Bath
87
Peter Seville, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences,
Aston University
86
Joy Wingfield, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Nottingham
70
The Society is pleased to announce that the successful candidates are as follows:
Richard Bryce, Paul Gard, John Pugh, Chris Rostron, Jenny Scott and Peter Seville.
Regarding the period of service, as the reforms of the Council, envisaged in
the proposed revisions of the legislative framework and the new Royal Charter,
are agreed and implemented, the committee, advisory and interest group structures
will also be reviewed. This may impact on the terms of office of those elected
to the APG Committee. The maximum term of office would be the three-year period
indicated in the APG’s constitution, making the July 2007 the last possible
end date. However, it is possible that the period of service will be shorter.
