Statutory Committee decisions

Set out below are the outcomes of recent inquiries heard before the Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

On Monday 19 July 2004, in the restoration application by Hafiz Noorullah, of 5 Knaresborough Drive, Fartown, Huddersfield, the committee determined not to restore Mr Noorullah’s name to the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists.

In the restoration application by Robert Lewis Jones, of 14 Woodview Terrace, Bryncoch, Neath, West Glamorgan, the committee determined to restore Mr Jones’s name to the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists.

In the resumed inquiry into the case of David Michael Beldon, of Clayton Heights, Sunderland Road, East Boldon, Tyne and Wear, the committee determined to adjourn the case for 12 months.

On Tuesday 20 July 2004, in the resumed inquiry into the case of Virinder Kumar Kumrai, of 74 Huntingdon Road, East Finchley, London N2, the committee determined to announce its decision and reasons on Monday 9 August 2004 at 9.45am.

In the resumed inquiry into the case of Shiraz Habib Mitha, of 2 Stonemead, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, the committee determined to issue a reprimand.

In the new inquiry into the case of Martin Kenneth Atkinson, of Mude Haven Court, Mudeford, Christchurch, Dorset, the committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Atkinson’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

On Wednesday 21 July 2004, in In the new inquiry into the case of Trevor Sherlock, of 1 Garth Barn Close, Bradford, West Yorkshire, the committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Sherlock’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

In the new inquiry into the case of John Edward Bradbeer, of Mill Bank, Ashington Road, Ellington, Morpeth, Northumberland, the committee adjourned the case until early next year.

In the new inquiry into the case of Derek Michael Evans, of 19 Carlisle Avenue, St Albans Hertfordshire, the Committee determined to issue a reprimand.
