Statutory Committee decisions
Set out below are the outcomes of recent inquiries heard before the
Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
On Monday 20 September 2004, in the new inquiry into the case of David
Webb,
of 27 Manor House Court, Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottingham, the committee resolved
to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Webb’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical
Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to
take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on
which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought
against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.
In the resumed application for restoration by Rajendra Gulubchand Shah, of 8
Bush Hill Road, Kenton, Harrow, Middlesex, the Committee determined to adjourn
the case for a further three months.
In the new inquiry into Rajiv Kumar Sarna, of West Lodge, Erlwood Manor, London
Road, Windlesham, Surrey, the committee postponed its decision for 12 months.
On Tuesday 21 September 2004, in the new inquiry into the case of Gholamreza
Youseffi, of Flat 33, Risborough House, 1 Mallory Street, London NW8, and Sumer
Health Ltd, of 340–342 Harrow Road, London W9, the committee found Mr Youseffi
guilty of misconduct such as to render him unfit to be on the Register of Pharmaceutical
Chemists but adjourned its decision on sanction for one month.
On Wednesday 22 September and Thursday 23 September 2004, in the new inquiry
into the case of Christopher Charles Chanin and Lynda
Jane Chanin, both of 3
Whinmoor Close, Prenton, Merseyside, the committee adjourned its decision to
a later date.
