Statutory Committee decisions
Set out below are the outcomes of recent inquiries heard before the
Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
On Monday 13 December 2004, in the resumed inquiry into the case of Orbis
Consumer
Products Ltd, of Unit 31, Northfields Industrial Estate, Beresford Avenue, Wembley,
Middlesex, and Hitesh Govind Vaghjiani and Kamlesh Govind
Vaghjiani, both of
10 Braemar Gardens, Colindale, London NW9, the committee determined to issue
both pharmacists and the company with a reprimand.
In the resumed inquiry into the case of Fahim Samri, of 172 Carterhatch Road,
Enfield, Middlesex, the committee adjourned its decision until 24 January 2005.
In the new inquiry into the case of Amin-Ur Rashid, of 6 Victoria Crescent, Birkdale
Road, Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, the committee determined to issue Mr Rashid with
a reprimand.
On Tuesday 14 December 2004, in the new inquiry into the case of James
Robert
Cranston Tugby, of Eastview, 1 Western Drive, Claybrook Parva, Leicester, the
committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Tugby’s name from
the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act
1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of
three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where
an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined
or withdrawn.
The new inquiry into the case of Sohail Virdi, of 131A Liverpool Road, Castlefield,
Manchester, was adjourned.
The new inquiry into the case of Jayantilal Raichand Shah, of 9 Salehurst Close,
Harrow, Middlesex, was adjourned.
