Approval of regulations: election of Council members and appointed Council members

Notice is hereby given that regulations made by the Council concerning the election of Council members and appointed Council members, having been published in The Pharmaceutical Journal of 11 December 2004 and confirmed by the Council after a period of sixty days, have now been approved by the Privy Council and came into force on 22 February 2005.

Notes:

(1) Previously, the Society has made Byelaws under powers provided either by the Charter or by legislation. Under the Society’s new governing documents, the terminology is different: the Council makes Regulations under the new Charter and will make Rules under new legislation.

(2) The purpose of these regulations is to regulate the election of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to the Society’s Council and to establish requirements relating to appointed Council members. These Regulations replace Section XII of, and the First Schedule to, the Society’s Byelaws.
