BPC 2005 practice research medal
Nominations or applications are now being sought for the 2005 conference
practice research medal, which will be presented at the British Pharmaceutical
Conference
in September 2005.
The award, sponsored by Chemist & Druggist magazine, recognises individuals
up to 45 years of age who have made a significant contribution to the field of
pharmacy practice research and have the potential to become a leader in their
field.
The winner of the medal will receive a cheque for £1,000 and will deliver
a lecture at BPC 2005 which takes place at the Manchester International Convention
Centre. The lecture should be based primarily on the applicant’s own research
but should also draw on relevant published work from related fields including
health policy.
Applicants do not necessarily have to be based in a school of pharmacy or be
a registered pharmacist and international applicants are welcome.
Anyone wishing to apply for this award, or to nominate a colleague, should forward
an academic CV, which includes details of significant grants held, publications,
professional and academic record including peer review experience, together with
a lecture outline. This should include the research areas and topics that will
be covered and a statement of how the research contributes to knowledge and policy
in relation to health care generally and pharmacy practice specifically. It is
anticipated that the outline will be approximately 1,000 words.
Applications or nominations should be submitted by Thursday 31 March 2005 and
the successful applicant will be notified by early June.
Applications should be submitted to Judy Callanan, Practice Research Secretariat,
Royal Pharmaceutical Society, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN.
