Statutory Committee decisions
Set out below are the outcomes of recent inquiries heard before the
Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
On Monday 21 March 2005, in the resumed inquiry into the case of Ghislaine
Brant (registration number 70438), the committee determined that there
was no case to answer.
In the inquiry into Philip John Terry (registration number 72613), the
committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Terry’s
name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of
the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the
expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice
of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against
the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.
On Tuesday 22 March 2005, in the inquiry into the case of Brian
James Partridge (registration number 64916), the committee resolved to direct
the Registrar to remove Mr Partridge’s name from the Register of
Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this
direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three
months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case
where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal
is determined or withdrawn.
On Wednesday 23 March 2005, in the inquiry into the case of Shital
Nilesh Popat (registration number 84548) and PIL Limited (identification number
1086946), the committee decided to adjourn to a future date.
On Thursday 24 March 2005, in an application for restoration, the respondent
asked for the hearing to be adjourned to a future date.
In the inquiry into the case of Domenico Loiacono (registration number
1078636), the committee determined to issue Mr Loiacono with a reprimand.
