Amendment to the examination regulations

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Society, under its powers in the Pharmacy Act 1954, has approved proposals to alter the examination regulations as hereunder, subject to the approval of the Privy Council.

Schedules 1 and 2

Delete references to the “Overseas” and “Education” Divisions and replace them throughout with “RPSGB Examinations Officer”.

Schedule 2

Paragraph 2A(i) — Delete the words “the trainee will have satisfactorily completed 26 weeks’ approved employment by the date of the registration examination” and replace with “the trainee will have satisfactorily completed the preregistration training directed by the Adjudicating Committee by the dates of application for a sitting of the registration examination”.

Ann Lewis
Secretary and Registrar

Note: The alteration to Schedules 1 and 2 will provide a single point of contact for application to sit the registration examination. The alteration to Paragraph 2A(i) of Schedule 2 is to remove any confusion over what are the normal expectations of all applicants — UK and overseas graduates alike — and are not a change in procedure.
