The Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1, at 11am on Tuesday 24 May and 9.30am on Thursday 25 May 2005 to hear the following inquiries:

Tuesday 24 May

1. An inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Krikor Melemetdjian (registration number 64863) which alleges that failure to make entries in the Controlled Drugs register, the taking without authority for his own use and consuming while on duty of Controlled Drugs, including Palfium, which did not belong to him and were not prescribed for him, together with a conviction against him for theft and possession of drugs, may amount to misconduct.

2. The committee will resume its inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against Shital Popat (registration number 84548) and PIL Ltd (ID number 1086946) which alleges that various failings in relation to the presence of patient-returned medicines or medicines that have been left uncollected for a significant period of time on shelves in a monitored dosage system (MDS) room, the presence of medicines not properly labelled with batch numbers and/or expiry dates, the presence of temazepam in the MDS room, unsatisfactory working conditions and a failure to have in place an adequate system of disposal of patient-returned medicines may amount to misconduct.

3.
