Statutory Committee decisions

Set out below are the outcomes of inquiries heard before the Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain on Monday 18 July, Tuesday 19 July, Wednesday 20 July and Thursday 21 July 2005.

1. In the restoration application for Dilip Patel (registration number 73918) the committee decided that at this time his name shall not be restored to the Register.

2. In the delivery of determination for Alan Roch (registration number 67574) and Honeysgreen Pharmacy Ltd (identification number 1088653), the committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Roch’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn. The Committee decided to take no further action regarding Honeysgreen Pharmacy Ltd.

3. In the new inquiry into the case of John Gilpin (registration number 1055670), the committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Gilpin’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

4. In the new inquiry into the case of Malcolm Bernard Dexter (registration number 66371), the committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Dexter’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

5. In the new inquiry into the case of James Newman (registration number 1072633), the committee decided to issue Mr Newman with an admonition.

6. In the resumed inquiry into the case of Peter Herman (registration number 63167), the committee decided to issue Mr Herman with a reprimand.

7. In the new inquiry into the case of Shariff Obadi (registration number 89030), the committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Obadi’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.

8. In the resumed inquiry into the case of David Beldon (registration number 62802), the committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Beldon’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.
