Statutory Committee decisions

Set out below are the outcomes of inquiries heard before the Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain on Monday 19 September, Tuesday 20 September, Wednesday 21 September and Thursday 22 September 2005.

1. In the resumed inquiry into the case of Rajiv Sarna (registration number 76820) and Sarna Enterprises Ltd (identification number 1084216), the committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Sarna’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn. The committee resolved to issue Sarna Enterprises Ltd with a reprimand.

2. In the new inquiry into the case of Paul Crawford (registration number 92425), the committee resolved to issue Mr Crawford with a reprimand.

3. In the resumed inquiry into the case of Sanjay Patel (registration number 76827), the committee resolved to issue Mr Patel with a reprimand.

4. In the resumed inquiry into the case of Rajesh Mistry (registration number 91540) and The House of Mistry Ltd (identification number 1084647), the committee resolved to direct the Registrar to remove Mr Mistry’s name from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists. Under Section 11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, this direction is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of three months from the date on which notice of removal is given or in a case where an appeal has been brought against the direction, until the appeal is determined or withdrawn. The Committee resolved to take no further action against The House of Mistry Ltd.

5. In the resumed inquiry into the case of Lesley Day (registration number 68404), the committee resolved to issue Ms Day with a reprimand.
