Statutory Committee decisions

Set out below are the outcomes of inquiries heard before the Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain on Monday 20 March, Tuesday 21 March, Wednesday 22 March and Thursday 23 March 2006.

1. At the resumed inquiry into the case of John Brian Price (registration number 54597), the committee resolved to issue Mr Price with a reprimand following his agreement to give the following written undertaking to the committee: to retire forthwith from the practice of pharmacy and not to practise as a pharmacist again; to return his current certificate of Registration to the Society within seven days; never to seek to be readmitted to the Register (acknowledging that if he does, the matter will automatically be referred to the Statutory Committee or its successor body); and that the Society may note the existence of these undertakings in the Register and disclose them to any person making enquiries as to his registration status.

2. At the resumed inquiry into the case of Maria Mariscal Navarro (registration number 1078456) and Andrew Murdock (registration number 73499), the committee resolved to admonish both parties.

3. At the new inquiry into the case of Michael Turner (previous registration number 67819), the committee adjourned to deliver the determination at a later date.

4. At the resumed inquiry into the case of Derek Michael Phillips (registration number 75766) the committee adjourned to deliver the determination at a later date.

5. At the resumed inquiry into the case of Maysa Jibreel Al-Natsheh (registration number 90768) and Preston Park Chemists Ltd (identification number 1087052), the committee resolved to reprimand both Mrs Al-Natsheh and Preston Park Chemists Ltd. Mrs Al-Natsheh was reprimanded on the condition that she gives an undertaking to the committee to resign as superintendent pharmacist of Preston Park Chemists Ltd with immediate effect and does not undertake any post as superintendent pharmacist while not resident in the UK.

6. At the resumed inquiry into the case of John Joseph George Barnes (registration number 62087), the committee resolved to issue Mr Barnes with an admonition following his agreement to give an undertaking to the committee.
