Statutory Committee decisions
Set out below are the outcomes of inquiries heard before the Statutory Committee of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain on Monday 21 May, Tuesday 22 May and Wednesday 23 May 2007.
1. Following the inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society
against Neil Hutchinson (registration number 79982) and Carol
Janette Hutchinson (registration number 79981), the committee adjourned to deliver
their determination at a later date.
2. Following the inquiry into the case of Sheila Elizabeth Coventry (registration
number 81492), the committee adjourned to deliver its determination at a later
date.
3. Following the inquiry into the case of Joseph William Moffett (registration
number R4634), the committee directed the removal of Mr Moffett’s name
from the Register. The committee found proved a conviction on 13 January 2006
at Ipswich Crown Court for two counts of sexual activity with a female child
and one count of allowing a child to engage in sexual activity. Under Section
11 of the Pharmacy Act 1954, the direction to remove Mr Moffett’s name
from the Register is not to take effect until the expiration of a period of
three months from the date on which notice of removal was given, or where an
appeal has been brought against the direction, the direction will not take
effect until the appeal is determined or withdrawn.
